'Tini Tap Tips
Get the most out of every pour. These are the habits that separate a good experience from a great one.
Start Cold. Always.
This is the single most important thing you can do. Not only for a great pour but also and maybe most importantly, for keeping your drink safe. Cold liquid holds CO2 better, pours smoother, and stays at a safe temperature longer once it's inside the 'Tini Tank.
Here's why it matters beyond just flavor: your 'Tini Tank is double-wall insulated, which means it's excellent at maintaining the temperature of whatever goes into it. But it's not a refrigerator. It can't bring warm liquids down to a safe temperature on its own. Whatever temperature your drink goes in at is roughly the temperature it will stay. Bacteria multiply rapidly above 41°F, so starting cold isn't just a best practice. It's how you keep every pour safe and fresh for as long as possible.
- Pre-chill all ingredients before mixing and filling, ideally overnight in the fridge.
- Target an ingredient temperature at or below 41°F before filling.
- Pre-chill the 'Tini Tank itself by rinsing it with cold water (ice cubes in the water help as well) before filling on a warm day.
- Because of the insulation, a filled 'Tini Tank placed in the refrigerator won't cool down quickly. Always chill the drink before it goes in, not after.
Fill to the Line, Not Past It
Your 'Tini Tank has a fill line for a reason. The space above your drink is what allows the CO2 to pressurize properly and deliver a consistent pour. Overfilling removes that space and creates pressure problems.
- Always leave headspace above the liquid by only filling to the marked fill line. (The highest point of the straight tank wall. Don’t fill into the narrowed part of the tank.)
- If you're adding ice inside the tank, account for its volume when filling.
- A properly filled 'Tini Tank will pressurize quickly and pour cleanly from the first tap.
The Perfect Pour — Step by Step
Follow this sequence every time for consistent, smooth, foam-free results.
- Ensure all ingredients are fully chilled to 41°F or below before filling.
- If applicable: Strain your drink before filling the tank. This means remove pulp, herbs, or any solids that could clog the tap line over time.
- Fill to the fill line. Do not overfill.
- Insert a 'Tini Charger and pressurize. You'll hear a brief hiss as the system charges. This hissing sound is normal.
- Give the tank 3–5 slow, gentle inversions to help the CO2 absorb. Then let it rest upright for 60 seconds before your first pour.
- Turn the regulator knob almost all the way down. You can use this to adjust the pour. But it’s best to start low.
- Open the tap slowly and steadily. A gradual open gives you the cleanest pour with the least foam.
- Keep the 'Tini Tank upright during serving.
- If the tank has been sitting for a while between pours, give it a slow, gentle roll to re-incorporate any settled ingredients before serving again.
Opening the Tank Mid-Session
If you need to open the tank for any reason. Like to top it off, adjust the recipe, or add ice, always follow this sequence:
- Pull the pressure release ring to fully vent remaining CO2 before opening. Never attempt to open a pressurized tank.
- Make your adjustment, then reseal the tank.
- Insert a fresh 'Tini Charger before serving again. Once the tank has been opened and vented, the previous charge is spent so a new charger is required to restore proper serving pressure. (Keep in mind the additional Charger may cause additional carbonation so be prepared for a potential slight change in the beverage.)
Any time the tank is opened, a new 'Tini Charger is required before serving.
Using Your 'Tini Chargers
Your 'Tini Tap system is designed to work with 'Tini Chargers. ‘Tini Chargers are our 16g food-safe, threaded CO2 cartridges. Using the right cartridge means a reliable, consistent experience every time.
We recommend only using ‘Tini Taps branded ‘Tini Chargers. Although other 16g food-safe cartridges can be used, we can’t vouch for quality, consistency, or safety of other cartridges.
- One 'Tini Charger typically powers a full 68oz. pour session. For the 169oz., plan to potentially need 2 chargers.
- Always use food-safe, threaded 16g CO2 cartridges. Do not use non-threaded or non-food-safe cartridges.
- If your pours are coming out weak or flat before the tank is empty, it may be time for a fresh charger or there may be a small seal leak. See our Troubleshooting guide.
- Stock up on 'Tini Chargers so you're never caught short before a gathering.
What to Fill It With
Your 'Tini Tank is designed for cold, pourable, pre-mixed drinks. It works beautifully with a wide range of beverages. Here’s some of our favorite options.
Works great:
- Cocktails and mocktails: batched, strained, and chilled
- Spritzes and sparkling lemonade builds
- Cold brew coffee and iced tea
- Flavored waters and juice-based drinks
- Espresso martinis and coffee cocktails:
- Important: strain well and clean the dedicated hose immediately after
Use with care:
- Citrus-heavy drinks: Strain out all pulp and seeds before filling to avoid clogging the tap line
- Drinks with herbs or flowers mixed in: Always strain thoroughly
- High-sugar drinks: Always rinse and clean the tap line promptly after use
Avoid:
- Thick, pulpy, or smoothie-style drinks are too viscous for clean dispensing
- Drinks with undissolved powders or solids
- Hot liquids: Never fill with anything warm or hot
Serving Over Ice
We recommend serving most drinks over ice when possible. Unlike a traditionally poured cocktail that picks up dilution from being shaken or stirred over ice, your 'Tini Tank serves your drink exactly as you mixed it. The ice in your guest's glass provides the serving-time dilution and chill that brings the drink into balance. With that in mind, when building a batch specifically for the 'Tini Tank, mix it slightly stronger than your target flavor. This means pouring over ice will bring it to the perfect serve.
Taking It Somewhere
Your 'Tini Tank is made for the lake, the patio, the beach, the rooftop and wherever else the moment calls for it. A little prep makes travel seamless.
- Transport your 'Tini Tank depressurized when possible. Fill and charge it at your final destination for the freshest experience.
- If transporting pressurized, ensure the tap is fully closed and the system is sealed. Keep it upright.
- Keep it out of a hot car. Heat increases internal pressure and degrades drink quality quickly. A cooler or shaded bag is ideal.
- If the tank has been jostled or shaken during transport, let it rest upright for at least 60 seconds before opening the tap.
Shelf Life & Food Safety
Your 'Tini Tank's double-wall insulation is excellent at maintaining temperature but it works in both directions. The temperature your drink goes in at is the temperature it will largely stay at. This is why pre-chilling everything before filling is so important. Once filled with properly chilled ingredients, your 'Tini Tank will keep your drink cold and safe throughout your serving session.
- Drinks with fresh juice or other perishable ingredients should usually be consumed the same day they're made.
- Cold brew, iced tea, and simple syrup-based drinks hold longer when kept cold but always trust your senses.
- Because the insulation slows temperature change in both directions, a filled 'Tini Tank placed in the fridge will not cool back down quickly. If in doubt, empty and clean rather than storing a partially used batch.
- When in doubt, empty and clean. A fresh batch is always better than a questionable one.
‘Tini Taps isn’t responsible for any illness or harm caused by consuming spoiled beverages. Proper cleaning and temperature regulation is your responsibility and puts you in the best position to enjoy your favorite beverages exactly how you intended.
Building Your Batch
The best 'Tini Taps experience starts with a great batch. A few principles that make a real difference:
- Mix your batch the night before if possible. This allows flavors to develop and everything to chill fully.
- Always taste before filling. It’s harder to adjust once it's in the tank. This will lead to better beverages and less wasted Chargers.
- When in doubt, strain it. Even small bits of pulp or herbs can clog the tap line over time.
- Plan to serve over ice. Build your recipe slightly stronger than your target flavor so the ice in the glass brings it into balance at serving.
